When using the Wult compliance platform, the connection systems links your data lakes into the Wult platform. It allows the platform to analyse your data, detect risks, understand data mapping and provide you with a real-time understanding of your data from a data compliance standpoint.

What is a connection?

A connection is the exchange of credentials that allows the Wult platform to query a data lake (CRM, database, or similar) on an ongoing basis. By having a connection, the Wult platform can continuously scan data to understand risk, maintain data mapping records etc.

How to create a connection?

You can create a connection to a data lake from the Wult platform by using the “Systems” menu point, selecting the target platform of choice and following the instructions there. No code or technical requirement is needed other than having the required access to the target system. Once a connection is set up nothing more is needed and the data scanning and indexing will continue until the connection is manually stopped.

How can we stop a connection?

It is always possible to disable and remove a connection from the Wult platform. When disconnected all indexed data is removed from the Wult platform (unless configured otherwise through the hashing / blocking system). Often, it will also be possible to break the connection from within the target system, but that is dependent on the system implementation.
